The MM710e model is an infrared moisture sensor designed specifically to meet the needs of the food processing industry for providing dependable and accurate on-line measurement of moisture, oil/fat and surface browness. Using near infrared (NIR) moisture measurement it is suitable for all types of foods and processes including breakfast cereals, biscuits, crackers, crispbreads, grains, flours, nuts, seeds, spices, potato crisps, snack foods, cheese processing, chocolate, coffee and many other food products. About NIR Moisture Measurement: Light at specific wavelengths is absorbed by water and oil in food. By pulsing light at a different known wavelength the NIR moisture analyzer compares the absorption rate to an internal reference making it possible to determine exactly by how much each wavelength is being absorbed. An algorithm converts the infrared signals into an output that is proportional to moisture and fat content by means calibration curve that relates the measurement to the customer’s primary reference method.
