2D Laser Profile Sensors

ProfiCura 2D is our range of high definition 2D laser profile sensors that have been developed for in-process measurement for industrial applications. Using the latest developments in image processing the sensors will capture the 2D profile of all types of material that are fast-moving. They have been developed to meet the needs of the steel and sawmill industries.

Operating principle

The ProfiCura 2D laser profile sensors use the technique known as 2D laser triangulation.

To improve the measuring performance and to suppress background light and secondary reflections an advanced modified centre of gravity processing algorithm is utilised.

Applications

  • Measurement of width and edge profile on hot or cold steel slabs
  • Measurement of board profile in sawmills
